Especially when you’re well-known.
Constant media attention can make it difficult to live a normal life.
However, some individuals who grow up in the spotlight decide to embrace it even further.
One person who truly understands this is Malia Obama, the daughter of former US President Barack Obama. Malia has been in the public eye since she was young, and the media’s interest in her continues to this day.
Now 25 years old, Malia is pursuing her dream of becoming well-known in Hollywood. She recently made her debut in the film “The Heart” under the stage name Melia Ann. This decision not only allows her to establish her own identity but also pays homage to her late grandmother, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 1995.
In “The Heart,” a short film she both directed and wrote, Malia breaks out of her shell. The film tells the story of a man grieving the loss of his mother, and Malia describes it as an “odd little fable” that explores themes of forgiveness, loss, and regret.
This isn’t Malia’s first venture into the entertainment industry. She previously worked in the writer’s room for the show “Swarm” and was responsible for writing an episode titled “Girl, Bye.”
Changing one’s name or dropping a last name when entering celebrity status is not uncommon. Celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Nicolas Cage have made similar choices in the past.
Malia is determined to forge her own path in Hollywood, and she has already displayed an incredible amount of talent. We eagerly await her next endeavor and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
