Miranda Lambert makes a rare comment about her divorce from Blake Shelton

When Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert tied the knot, country music enthusiasts celebrated what seemed like a royal union in the country music scene.

However, their eventual divorce left fans heartbroken and curious about the circumstances surrounding this significant decision.

Following her divorce from Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert maintained a relatively low profile and refrained from making public comments or stirring controversy.

In an interview with CBS News, she opened up about the intense media and public scrutiny she faced after the divorce, expressing surprise and stating, “I wasn’t prepared for that. I don’t think anybody is. And it’s not nice sometimes, but I think you got to take it with a grain of salt.”

As a singer-songwriter, Lambert emphasized her ability to convey her truth through her music, stating, “I’m a singer-songwriter, so luckily I can tell my whole truth. I will not lie in my music.”

The couple, married for five years, announced their divorce in 2015, shocking many. Both Lambert and Shelton moved on to new relationships shortly afterward. Lambert married Brendan McLoughlin in 2019, while Shelton tied the knot with Gwen Stefani, his fellow coach from The Voice.

In their joint statement announcing the divorce, Lambert and Shelton expressed, “This is not the future we envisioned, and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately,” and requested privacy and compassion.

Lambert and Shelton’s paths initially crossed onstage during CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005, when Shelton was still married to Kaynette Gern. Lambert later described their first meeting, saying, “I didn’t know if it was just initial butterflies… I don’t know what it was. It was just this draw to each other.”

Before their split, Lambert spoke positively about her relationship with Shelton, stating, “I’m not sunshine and roses. Blake’s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness… Literally, everything is the best about being married.”

Lambert’s current husband, Brendan McLoughlin, entered the scene when Lambert was performing at ABC’s Good Morning America, and her band, the Pistol Annies, played matchmaker by introducing them. They secretly wed in 2019, with Lambert revealing the news later, expressing gratitude for finding love again.

Lambert chose to keep her second marriage private after her previous high-profile wedding with Shelton. She shared her decision, saying, “I was married before, and it was a huge wedding and everything was very public. So was my divorce. I learned then that it’s not for everybody else. This is my actual life. With Brendan, I made it a point to keep it as private as I could for as long as I could.”

Both Lambert and Shelton have moved on, finding happiness in their respective relationships after their divorce.
