Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has said that he doesn’t think SpaceX CEO Elon Musk will use his close ties with US President-elect Donald Trump to undercut his space tech company Blue Origins and feels “very optimistic” about the Trump administration’s space agenda.
During an interview with Reuters, Bezos whose company Blue Origins rivals with Musk’s SpaceX said “Elon has been very clear that he’s doing this for the public interest and not for his personal gain. And I take him at face value.”
Blue Origin is making its delayed debut in the satellite launch business as Bezos is in Cape Canaveral, Florida for the launch of New Glenn, a 30 story-tall rocket which is expected to chip away some market share of dominant company SpaceX in this sector.
Musk donated over $270 million in order to help elect Trump and has been the ears of the president-elect on matters related to space.
